Elysha and Charlie’s romantic New York wedding with natural and organic elements.
A Wooded Wonderland
Glen Falls House’s whimsical woodsy charm combines with romantic retro vibes to create a wedding venue that feels like a fairy tale. Before becoming the beloved wedding venue and hotel that it is now, its origins begin in 1881 as a farmstead for the Ernst family. Becoming a hotel in the 1940s, it eventually evolved to what is is now in 2017 after major revitalization efforts made by current owners Jonathan Picco and Greg Brier. It hosts many weddings each season, attracting many to its artsy, romantic, and whimsical setting.
Elysha and Charlie’s Tented Wedding
Elysha and Charlie live in the city but have deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. For their wedding, the couple wanted to create a weekend escape, starting with a pool party on Friday and culminating in their tented wedding at Glen Falls House. The ceremony was held in a open field with lush woods as the backdrop. Elysha and Charlie exchanged vows by large tree where a linen was delicately draped, creating a whimsical ceremony area.
Retro Romantic
The design for this wedding was earthy, romantic, classy, and with retro elements. The color pallet were earthy tones of brown, green, auburn off-white, and brown. Even the bridesmaids’ dresses were earth tones that perfectly complimented the day’s earth vibes. Rattan lanterns hung from the ceiling of the tent along with flashy disco balls. Adorned with glow-stick bracelets, guests danced and party all night long. Guests played pool under neon lights and hung out by the retro car that was rented for the evening.
