Allison and Matthew’s Hasbrouck House Wedding from last summer was such a dream and we are so excited to feature them on the blog today! Hasbrouck House is an absolutely stunning wedding venue that checks a lot of our venue boxes: outdoor tented wedding, dream weekend getaway location, top notch service. Check, check, check.
Before we get too far into it, if you are new to our corner of the internet, thank you for being here. This has been such an exciting year for Pearl Weddings and Events (despite any and all unexpected challenges that came our way this year), and we can’t help but be excited for the future. If you are looking for wedding planners and designers that spent their quarantine designing tablescapes out of their household decor, you are definitely in the right place. We are just as passionate about the overall design as we are providing our couples a seamless planning experience.
A Weekend Wedding Escape in Upstate New York
When I asked Allison and Matthew what their wedding day vision was, they knew they wanted something special for their guests. They wanted something that was both beautiful and unique. More than “just a day”, they really valued their wedding being an experience for their guests – somewhere they could all spend the weekend together. We were definitely up for the challenge and found that Hasbrouck House would be the perfect weekend wedding venue for the two of them – only two short hours from New York City.
The weekend started with a welcome party / rehearsal dinner where we took advantage of the outdoor tent set up. With pops of yellow linens and excellent food, the welcome party somehow felt both like a luxury weekend away and as comfortable as your own backyard. That is the power of design. Guests enjoyed a late night fire (with smores!) and outdoor movie. It was so much fun and definitely set the tone for the weekend.
Choosing Vendors and Locations at the Destination Wedding Weekend Venue
Domestic destination weddings are rising in popularity and Upstate New York is a perfect weekend wedding destination. Hasbrouck House blew us away with their outstanding in house catering (by butterfield, NY) and a beautiful outdoor tent right on the property. We also loved working with some small businesses and local vendors, like the bride’s friend Leah of Leah Pipes Meltzer who added special details like a birch chuppah with grass installations lining the aisle and fun lighting in the trees by Hudson Valley Ceremonies. Being a boutique business ourselves, these are the types of vendors we absolutely love to work with.
The Outdoor Tented Wedding Reception
At Pearl Weddings and Events, we love bringing our couples’ vision to life and it always comes before our own design styles. I like to think of the design process as a true collaborative experience between us and our couples. With that in mind, I would be lying if I said I didn’t absolutely love working with outdoor locations like this one. Allison and Matthew sat at the same table as the rest of their guests and the whole evening was just so lovely. Filled with lots of laughs and dancing!

Allison’s Review | Where do I start? Chelsea is an incredible human and a phenomenal wedding planner. Every detail, every request, every email, executed on with perfection and with extremely good vibes throughout the year-long process. Chelsea planned our wedding at Hasbrouck House upstate – we wanted a garden party wedding and an entire weekend full of festivities (Friday pig roast, outdoor movie, bonfire, taco truck, brunch) and we got everything we wanted and more! All we ever had to do was tell Chelsea what we wanted or show her a photo of our vision and it was done. And she did all of this while staying in budget. Her knowledge, resources, responsiveness and just overall demeanor made our year of planning seamless and fun! And on the day of the wedding, everything was perfect. Everything was on time, everyone was taken care of, my dress (which was wrinkly and silk) was magically un-wrinkled by this woman! It was the most magical weekend of our lives. No matter what wedding you want or what budget you have, this woman will do it for you. Chelsea is the BEST decision we made (after deciding to get married).
